Our customer, a leading coating specialist, is looking for a solution to automatically hang workpieces on galvanising racks.
The assembly of electroplating racks is still a largely manual process. Accordingly, labour costs are a significant factor.
>65 items, cycle time <2.5s per part, designed for 15 million parts per year, minimum space requirement, possibly corrosive environment, connection to the master computer of the electroplating plant, quick changeover, simple operation.
Two electroplating rack assembly cells, each with two Fanuc LR-Mate200iDL, one flexible feed system per robot, universal electric servo gripper for all parts, with additional rotary axis so that parts can be rotated in the gripper, racks and hooks are calibrated and each hook position is saved and synchronised between the cells.
Result: Fully automatic, flexible loading system for all parts, with minimal space requirements. The customer only has to refill parts.
