Initial situation

Founded in 1985, BMK Bringmann Manufacturing Knowledge AG is known for its expertise in the production of complex, high-precision parts. In order to expand its capacities, the company invested in a Fehlmann Versa 745 5-axis milling machine.

Problem

Economical production would not be possible without automation, which is why BMK set out to find a clever automation solution.

Goals and requirements

BMK had clear ideas about what the ideal automation had to fulfill:

• Manual work on the machine must not be impaired in order to produce individual parts or for set-up work
• Direct part handling without having to procure many different clamping devices
• Short set-up time for new parts so that even small quantities can be automated profitably
• Small footprint to optimize output per valuable square meter of factory space

Solution

Roth Technik has solved this problem with the clever RoboCabinet standard cell. The small, flexible parts handling cell optimally meets all requirements. High flexibility, optimum footprint, the modern, intuitive HMI and maximized storage density are the hallmarks of this clever robot cell. The cell can be positioned on the left side, right side, front left or front right of the CNC machine without compromising accessibility. It is dual-machine capable and can be configured with a wide range of options to meet the exact needs of our customers.
