These advantages also convinced a customer from the plastics industry. We were asked to automate an injection moulding process for him. The tasks of the robot are: Gripping the injection-moulded part, inserting inserts, placing the injection-moulded part in the cooling system, gripping the cold part, cutting off the sprue and milling off the rest cleanly and flush, placing the part on the buffer belt, gripping new inserts. Previously this monotonous work was done by hand, now the process will be fully automated. A short ROI and an improvement in process reliability make the system a real benefit for the customer.
